Your Guide to Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is the world's first naional park.
The park is suitable for day tripping from the Jackson area, just be prepared for a long day. Spring provides and erratic weather pattern in our area. Yellowstone is on a high plateau, most of which is above 7000' in elevation, snow is always a potential. The park has few visiors at this time of year and can be remarkably easy and enjoyable to get around. Wildlife becomes increasingly more active with the Spring thaw. Yellowstone is beautiful to observe during this transitional season.
The best wildlife viewing can be found in the early mornings and evenings. One can anticipate seeing elk, moose, bear, eagles, big horn sheep, buffalo, coyotes, swans and pronghorn antelope.
General Information
The South Entrance Station to the park generally opens to vehicular travel on the first weekend in May. This is the one associated with the Jackson Hole area. Be prepared. More information to come.
